General Terms & Conditions

Applicable to All Day Tours, Multi-Day Tours, and Adventure Hikes Across Peru (Cusco, Arequipa, Puno, Lima, Nazca, Paracas, and Beyond)

At Peru Private Tours, we are committed to offering extraordinary experiences that showcase the culture, history, and natural beauty of Peru. Please carefully read the following Terms & Conditions, which apply to all our tours, to ensure a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

1. Reservations and Booking Policies

1.1 Booking Confirmation:
A booking is considered confirmed only after:

  • Peru Private Tours confirms availability of the requested services.
  • Full or partial payment, as instructed by our sales team, has been received.
  • The customer has received a confirmation email detailing their tour itinerary.

1.2 Required Information:
To confirm your reservation, you must provide:

  • Full names as they appear on passports.
  • Passport details (especially for tours involving entry to Machu Picchu or other ticketed attractions).
  • Dietary restrictions or medical conditions (if applicable).

1.3 Child Policies:

  • Children aged 3 to 17 are eligible for discounted rates where applicable.
  • Children under 3 years old may have reduced fees depending on the services. Parents/guardians must provide original passports at the time of booking and during the tour to verify age.

2. Payment Policies
2.1 Payment Options:
We accept payments via:

  • Bank transfer.
  • Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express).
  • PayPal (a 5.5% service fee applies to credit card and PayPal transactions).

2.2 Deposit Requirements:
A deposit is required to confirm your booking. The exact deposit amount will be informed by our sales team.
2.3 Balance Payments:
The remaining balance must be paid prior to the tour date, as per the instructions provided in your confirmation email.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policies
3.1 Day Tours:

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to the tour start time: 15% administrative fee will be deducted from your refund.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour start time: 100% penalty; no refund will be provided.

3.2 Multi-Day Tours and Adventure Hikes:

  • Cancellations made more than 30 days before the tour start date: 15% administrative fee will apply.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 15 days prior: 50% penalty applies.
  • Cancellations made within 15 days of the tour start date: 100% penalty; no refund will be provided.

3.3 Refund Processing:

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used.
  • Refunds may take up to 5 business days to reflect in your account.
  • International refunds via Western Union or bank transfers are subject to transfer fees, which must be covered by the customer.

4. Health and Fitness Requirements
4.1 Physical Fitness:
Certain tours, such as adventure hikes, require participants to be in good physical condition. Consult a doctor if you have any health concerns.
4.2 Medical Information:

  • You must notify us of any medical conditions or dietary restrictions when booking.
  • Carry personal medications and inform your guide of any allergies or issues that may arise during the tour.

4.3 Acclimatization:
For tours in high-altitude regions like Cusco, Puno, or Arequipa, we recommend spending 2–3 days acclimatizing before participating in hikes or strenuous activities.
5. Itinerary Modifications
5.1 Weather or Unforeseen Events:
We reserve the right to modify or cancel itineraries due to:

  • Adverse weatherconditions.
  • Natural disasters.
  • Strikes orpoliticalunrest.
  • Otherunforeseencircumstances.

In such cases, we will offer alternative activities or tours. Additional costs may apply.
5.2 Customer Requests:
Changes to itineraries must be requested at least 30 days before the start of the tour and are subject to availability and a 15% administrative fee.

6. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover:

  • Tour cancellations.
  • Medical emergenciesorevacuation.
  • Lost or damaged personal belongings.
  • Tripdelaysorinterruptions.

7. Included Services
The following services are typically included in our tours:

  • Professional, licensed tour guides fluent in English (other languages available upon request).
  • Private or shared transportation, as outlined in your itinerary.
  • Entry tickets to attractions, unless stated otherwise.
  • Meals specified in the itinerary (please inform us of dietary restrictions in advance).
  • First aid kits and emergency oxygen (for hikes and high-altitude regions).

8. Excluded Services
The following are not included unless explicitly stated in your itinerary:

  • Domesticorinternationalflights.
  • Travelinsurance.
  • Tipping for guides, drivers, or porters (optional but appreciated).
  • Personal expenses, such as souvenirs or snacks.
  • Additional services not outlined in the confirmed itinerary.

9. CustomerResponsibilities
9.1 Punctuality:
Customers must arrive on time at the designated meeting points. Delays caused by tardiness may result in missed activities without refund.
9.2 Respect and Etiquette:

  • Respect local communities, traditions, and the environment.
  • Follow all safety instructions provided by guides.
  • Refrain from disruptive behavior during tours.

10. Liability and Responsibilities
10.1 PeruPrivate Tours’ Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all services outlined in the itinerary are delivered with professionalism and quality.
  • To employ qualified staff and guides to ensure your safety and comfort.

10.2 CustomerResponsibilities:

  • To comply with all instructions provided by guides and staff for safety and cultural respect.
  • To ensure that all necessary travel documents (e.g., passports) are valid and presented as required.

10.3 Force Majeure:
Peru Private Tours cannot be held responsible for cancellations or interruptions caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters.
  • Strikes orpoliticalunrest.
  • Adverse weatherconditions.

11. Tipping Recommendations
Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated as a gesture of gratitude for exceptional service. Suggestedtippingamounts:

  • Guides: $15–$20 per day.
  • Drivers: $10 per day.
  • Porters or cooks (for hikes): $5–$10 per day.
